I DID NOT CHOOSE NURSING BUT NURSING CHOSE ME! – My #LifeStory
As we celebrate #2020 #YearofNurses, it is my pledge to help our #Millenials, #GenZ maneuver, their way through #nursing. Many have different reasons for being who they are. I will be lying if I said I fell into #Nursing. As an #African #Princess, I have always found myself caring at a tender age. I just didn’t know it was nursing. When I would act a role or write a play when in grade school, it was always about me caring for someone. As a 14x #BestsellingAuthor, #NAFCA #AfricanOscar and #Indiefest #Film award winner, I wrote #lifestories which showed characters we are inclined to care for.
Today, as a #BoardCertified #Psychiatric #MentalHealth Dr. of #NursePractice, I serve the most vulnerable population on-site and via telepsychiatry. I am proud to be a #NURSE.
Watch this and be inspired by my story…. Why would an African Princess choose nursing as a career?
Hi, I’m Dr. Princess Fumi Hancock, PsychDNP. I am an African Princess Living in Diaspora. Your International Board Certified (PMHNP-BC), Psychiatric Mental Health Dr. of Nurse Practice, Bestselling Author/Publisher, TEDxTALK Speaker, Award-winning Online TV/Podcast Host, On-Air Mental Health Expert: As Seen On Bloom Today TV, CBN, Faith TV, Ben TV, NTA Int’l., Love World TV, & Award-winning Filmmaker.

Sending LOVE to the people battling mental illness, feeling lonely, who are caregivers to someone who’s ill, who struggle to afford a holiday celebration, who are grieving a loss during the HOLIDAYS, and for those who are spending the holidays with people who are not supportive. We wish you a merry Christmas and to your family. Wishing you PEACE and JOY to you and your family this holiday season.
Whether you are the most powerful judge sitting on the most powerful seat on the planet, or you are the CEO of a powerhouse global organization…Are you a political head of a country? Do you drive the economy of an organization in a ministerial capacity? Or a Nurse entrepreneur, a filmmaker, a writer? It doesn’t really matter if you are a struggling artist either or a comedian who masks his or her pain with comedy. One thing is common amongst us all … #Trauma is Trauma and it is no respecter of anyone!
My name is Dr. Fumi S. Hancock, I am an #AfricanPrincess living in #Diaspora, a #Psychiatric #MentalHealth #Doctor of #NursePractice, Principal at #PoolofBethesda Psychiatric Health Clinics in Arizona, USA, YourCompassionate #TraumaCare On-Air Specialist, TN #GoodwillAmbassador and a proud #JohnsonandJohnson #NurseInnovation #Fellow. I want to share with you, a topic that’s burning deep in my heart today. Will you dare to share, comment and let’s start some needed conversations around this. I thank you in advance.
MY COME BACK STORY
I share my social proof today because, in spite of being a #BestsellingAuthor, #TEDxTalk Speaker and a Brand Connoisseur (the# PrincessofSuburbia(R)) who has helped literally thousands of women globally to push beyond their pain into recovery, I too suffered abuse. In spite of being raised in an African Royal Household, the #Adumori Royal Dynasty, I was not exempted from a disastrous marriage which almost took, my life!

Spirituality & Mental Wellness? Do these two merges and where? How does on impact the other and how do we apply it to our lives today?
Discuss your biggest goals and where to start to finally achieve them.
So, you’re reading this now because you want to finally be successful in life. You need to achieve those goals and you ought to start today. It’s never easy but don’t be afraid, it’s time to open the door, step up and don’t ever hold back.
In order for you to get started, you need something to motivate you to push your limits. You need to focus and challenge yourself. Here’s a list of things you need to check for you to get you started.
Be responsible and keep your promise.
How well do you keep a promise? Focus on your goals and be responsible to keep your determination to fulfill them. Are you willing to make sacrifices?
Search for information and knowledge.
Don’t focus on the outcome. Search for knowledge and fuel your motivation with excitement for new discoveries and improvement.
Don’t be so serious, make the expedition exciting.
Getting so serious will make you emotionally distressed then it will make you lose your outlook. Make it an awesome game.
Clear your mind, think positive.
Avoid stagnating thoughts. If you have a lot of thoughts in your head, it influences your feelings. Always think positive for a positive outcome.
Be creative, use your imagination.
After clearing your mind with negative thoughts, use your creativity and imagination. When you are positive, things will go well. Your mind will work well and your imagination starts to kick in.
Wait for the perfect timing to treat yourself.
Sometimes when you fail, you start being nice to yourself and just wait for the perfect timing. You need to take action and action brings results. There’s no such thing as perfect timing as long as you take action. Act now!
Focus on what is important.
Avoid meaningless distractions. There will always be something in your way. Get rid of them. Make a list of the things that makes your time and don’t do them again.
Be independent.
No one will make you achieve your goals but you so don’t rely on others. Don’t expect them to do it for you. After all, it feels good to get all the credits that you yourself have accomplished.
Make a plan.
List down of the things you need to do. What, when and how. Review what you have learned, what are your mistakes and what can you do to improve them.
Save yourself from being burned out.
Make sure to take a rest to avoid tiredness and being burned out. Switch between fun activities, something creative and logical. Meditate and let your body and mind rest.
Keep yourself motivated. Never stop looking for new inspiration and ideas. Just remember to always think positive and everything will go smoothly as you planned. Follow all the steps and this will lead you to success!

The only thing normally holding many people back—and away from their dreams—is themselves. They suffer from terrible fears when they try to better their lives. Inner fears like frustration, failure and lack of confidence allow some to be talked out of success by their own demons. These fears control the lives of many people but can be conquered. This new series of blog articles is all about fears that will hold you back—and how to conquer them. This week we are going to look at a fairly common fear that stops people from reaching their full potential—a fear called Anthropophobia, which is really an acute form of shyness that stops many people from actually taking the first step toward their dreams.
Anthropophobia may manifest itself in many ways—common manifestations are fears of blushing or meeting others’ gazes, awkwardness and uneasiness when appearing in society.
Recognizing Your Phobia
Most of us feel a little like shying away from people every now and again. Certain situations, mood swings and situations can all lead us to not ‘feeling like associating with others.’ In case of anthropophobia however, the mere thought of socializing can trigger a plethora of physical or psychological anxiety symptoms.
If you have anthropophobia, you avoid people at all costs– you might even fear close friends and relatives and perceive them as being threatening as much as a stranger. Any person with the extreme fear of people understands that their fear is illogical. Despite this, they let the phobia affect their daily lives, education or occupation. They arrange activities so that there is minimal interaction with people.
Overcoming Your Phobia
We Shall Overcome
The first step towards overcoming this phobia is to realize that it can be beaten. You can overcome anthropophobia. Only when you believe that you can beat this condition will you actually beat it. It’s not invincible at all.
The Mantra Is…
Sometimes, it all comes down to realizing that the world we live in today is a big and, in many cases, a dangerous place to live. Yet we can live perfectly wonderful lives during our time on Earth. Many people who suffer from anthropophobia find that they can actually improve their daily lives through the use of “mantras.” Try repeating a mantra along the lines of “people do not notice what I think they notice” and see if that allows you to punch a few holes in this phobia’s walls.
Thoughts and Behavior Count
Modifying thoughts and behavior will be essential as you fight to combat this phobia. For example, “people are laughing at me because I look fat” should be changed to “people are not thinking about me at all because they are so wrapped up in their own lives.” It’s about seeing the reality of a situation. You are not on the minds of others—don’t put other people on your mind. Writing down negative and subsequent positive thoughts can also be beneficial.
Time and the River
Meditation is a common solution to many problems. Try finding a quiet spot and reflect on why you are having these issues. Try to spend some time clearing your mind, relaxing and finding out how you really feel about yourself.
